Azul mar
Sinopsis | Synopsis
Borrosos, cubiertos de algas y humedecidos por el tiempo, los recuerdos del mar emergen como una imagen imprecisa, accesible solo a través de los sueños o del cine. Es en ese momento cuando el agua puede cambiar de color, y el mar deja de ser azul, variando entre la luz y la oscuridad en la memoria de la cineasta.
Blurred, covered in seaweed and weathered by time, memories of the sea emerge as an elusive image, accessible only through dreams or cinema. It is then that the water can change color, and the sea ceases to be blue, shifting between light and darkness in the filmmaker’s memory.

Desde que me acerqué al cine, el mar siempre ha estado presente, acompañándome. Con mi primera cámara de video, con la que filmé estas imágenes en un paisaje familiar, hasta este mismo instante, conectada con mi computadora a través de una cámara de vigilancia a un faro. Creo estar haciendo una película, aunque primero tendré que decidir qué hacer con las correspondencias que viajaron en barco el siglo pasado entre Galicia y Buenos Aires.
Intento recordar cómo comenzó todo. Me sorprendo a mí misma en un aula, junto a niños de diez años frente a un televisor de tubo. Marian ha traído una colección de documentales marinos, y allí, donde apenas llega la luz, se desborda nuestra imaginación.
Ever since I first came to cinema, the sea has always been there, accompanying me. From the first video camera I used to film these images in a familiar landscape, to this very moment, connected to my computer through a surveillance camera pointed at a lighthouse. I think I am making a film, although first I will have to decide what to do with the correspondences that crossed the ocean by ship between Galicia and Buenos Aires a century ago.
I try to remember how it all began. I find myself back in a classroom, surrounded by ten-year-old children, sitting in front of a cathode-ray television. Marian has brought a collection of films about the sea, and there, where barely any light reaches us, our imagination runs wild.
